Brookfield Oaktree Wealth Solutions Lee, who will oversee Southeast Asia distribution, joins Brookfield Oaktree Wealth Solutions with more than 18 years of experience and links with wealth, asset management, and global markets. She most recently served as co-Head of Asia private bank distribution at Blackrock. Sato joins from Schroders Investment Management (Japan) Limited, where he was a senior RM covering Japanese distributor groups. Brookfield Oaktree Wealth Solutions was formally launched in April 2021. The platform offers a variety of liquid, semi-liquid, and private strategies across real estate, infrastructure, credit, and private equity, operating in 10 countries and with a total of 150 employees. The firm oversees a total of more than $850 billion in assets as of June 30, 2023. Brookfield Asset Management is listed in New York and Toronto. BNY Mellon has appointed Stephen Chan as a partner in its litigation and dispute resolution department. Chan joins the firm’s Hong Kong office from Ince & Co in Hong Kong. He is the eighth partner to join the firm’s international litigation and dispute resolution team this year. With more than 15 years’ experience in the sector, Chan specialises in complex and high value commercial litigation and arbitration. He has handled multi-jurisdictional fraud and asset tracing involving freezing, gagging and other urgent interim injunctive measures which have particular synergies with the growing cryptocurrency and virtual asset area.
Brookfield Oaktree Wealth Solutions, an alternative investments house and part of Brookfield Asset Management, has appointed client relationship managers for its Asia-Pacific team. The North America-listed business has hired Mandy Lee and Nobuhiro Sato, based in Singapore and Tokyo respectively. They will be tasked with boosting the firm’s distribution links with private banks and intermediaries in Southeast Asia and Japan.
TMF Group
TMF Group has appointed Tim Houghton as global head of private wealth and family office services.
In his new role, Houghton will oversee TMF Group’s strategy for international pensions, employee benefits and management incentive programmes. He will report to Daniel Max, TMF Group’s head of global solutions and he will also work closely with Aynsley Vaughan, who will continue as the global leader for the group’s GEM services.
Tim Houghton joined the provider of compliance and administrative services, TMF Group, in March 2019, as a member of the private clients team. In January 2022, he was appointed Market Head for the Channel Islands. Houghton is a Chartered Member of the CISI and an Affiliate Member of STEP.
“The private wealth and family office services remain a key focus for the group, tying together our services across multiple jurisdictions as we strive to offer global services to our clients. Over the last few years, we have improved our client portfolio to better manage risk across all our key jurisdictions,” Daniel Max, TMF Group’s head of global solutions, said.
James Coughlan will become the sole market head for the British Isles and Ireland (BII) market, reporting to Frank Welman, TMF Group’s Head of EMEA.
